Commencement is a special time to celebrate your graduate for their hard work and academic achievement!
What to Know
We invite parents, families, and guests to attend the California Health Sciences University (CHSU) Class of 2025 Commencement and Hooding Ceremony on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Save Mart Center at Fresno State (tentative). Doors open at 10:00 am for seating. Please kindly be seated by 10:45 am. The ceremony starts promptly at 11:00 am.
The graduation ceremony will also be livestreamed on the CHSU YouTube page.
Directions and Parking
The Save Mart Center arena is located at 2650 E. Shaw Avenue, Fresno, CA 93710 at the intersection of Chestnut and Shaw Avenues. Free parking is available during Commencement directly north of the arena. For specific directions to the arena, please review the Save Mart Center visitor information.
Expectations
CHSU Commencement has a zero-tolerance policy for disorderly behavior. All events are alcohol, drug, smoke, vapor and tobacco-free. Graduates and guests will not be permitted to carry alcoholic beverages into ceremony sites or consume them there. Intoxicated or disruptive individuals will not be permitted into the event, or will be escorted from the venue.
Items Not Permitted
The university and/or the Save Mart Center does not permit the following items at the Commencement and Hooding Ceremony:
- Smoking materials including but not limited to lighters and all vaping paraphernalia. All tobacco products are prohibited.
- Outside food, drinks, cans, bottles, or containers of any kind including coolers (exceptions are made for baby food).
- Signs and Banners.
- Balloons.
- Fireworks, explosives, and weapons including firearms, knives, sticks, chains, spiked jewelry, and spiked belts.
- Laser pointers.
- Noisemakers and Air horns (marine type in a can).
- Strollers.
- Backpacks, bags larger than 12” X 6” X 12”, or sealed packages of any kind, including presents.
What to Bring
Please review the Save Mart Center visitor entry requirements in advance. Only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ will be allowed inside Save Mart Center. Small clutch bags, 4.5″ x 6.5″ x 2″ can be taken into the arena in addition to one of the approved clear bags. An exception will be made for any necessary medical items, but such items are subject to inspection.
Security Screening
Guests attending the CHSU Commencement ceremony will pass through metal detectors and security screening prior to entering the Save Mart Center. Security is present at the arena before, during, and after the ceremony.
