CHSU Welcomes Largest Cohort in Master’s Program

August 29, 2025

In August, the California Health Sciences University College of Biosciences and Health Professions welcomed it’s third cohort of students in its Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MSBS) program.

The college celebrated the forty-two (42) new students in the Class of 2026, a record number of students and nearly double the previous year’s cohort size.

After a two-day orientation, the new students enjoyed a packed agenda to help them learn all about the campus, curriculum, resources, and study strategies. They also met people in the various departments that help support them throughout their time at CHSU, including President Florence Dunn, the Deans, and medical school Admissions and Student Affairs teams.

They also had many opportunities to get to know their classmates, faculty, and staff during social time.

Inspired by the success of the MSBS programs’ first two cohorts having over 60% accepted to medical school or other healthcare professional programs, this cohort has 95% of students interested in pursuing medicine.

40.5% of the students are from the Central Valley and 74% are female.
