director’s Message

Thank you for your interest in the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MSBS) program at California Health Sciences University College of Biomedical Sciences and Health Professions (CHSU-CBHP). If your goal is to pursue professional school or advanced graduate studies in the health professions or sciences, the MSBS program may be right for you. Our rigorous program is designed to help improve your academic foundation, as well as prepare you for an advanced degree.

The MSBS program includes two tracks for students to consider. The one-year track is designed for students who have a baccalaureate degree in science or degree in other disciplines, plus completed the course prerequisites for medical school. Students can enhance their medical or health care professional school applications by completing graduate science courses.

With the two-year thesis track, students who wish to pursue a career in the biomedical sciences field or in research laboratories can gain the necessary skills and credentials. Our program is designed to prepare students for continued success academically and professionally.

Students will be prepared in a unique, rigorous academic environment for successful application to graduate professional programs with CHSU or beyond as well as for careers in teaching and industry.

About the DIRECTOR

Sree N. Pattipati, MPharm, PhD, serves as Director of the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences Program at California Health Sciences University, College of Biosciences and Health Professions and Professor. Prior to this role, Dr. Pattipati served as Chair and Associate Professor in the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences department at the California Health Sciences University, College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Pattipati received his PhD in Neuropsychopharmacology from Panjab University, India, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. Dr. Pattipati’s academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at Panjab University. Prior to starting his academic career in CHSU College of Pharmacy, Dr. Pattipati held leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry, drug discovery and development areas for over seven years.

Dr. Pattipati’s research interests are primarily focused on cannabinoids, Neuropathic pain, neuropsychiatric disorders, and fibrotic disorders with 69 research publications and 8 review articles and book chapters in this area. His research has been well-funded through various governmental and private agencies. Dr. Pattipati serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of EC Pharmacology and Toxicology, Journal of Neurology and Stroke, and as an ad hoc reviewer for several biomedical journals.
